ABOUT US

ABOUT CCR@BCC

A collective of former executives, including Principals, and current and former staff, teachers and parents, representative of the BCC community since 2015, has formed an association known as the Community for Constitutional Reform at Brindabella Christian College (CCR@BCC).

The CCR@BCC Association shares concerns around how the school, and the corporate charitable entity that runs the school, Brindabella Christian Education Limited (BCEL) is being governed and the lack of accountability and transparency in the current governance practices and processes.   The publicly reported instances of unjust treatment of staff, parents and students, and members own personal experiences with BCC governance, has motivated members to seek change to the power and composition of the Board and return responsibility of governance of the school, as a registered charity, to broad and representative membership.

We will work with Adero Law, federal and state regulators and others to compel necessary reform in order to promote the long term viability and health of the school to ensure it can continue delivering quality care and education services to children in the Canberra community well into the future.

We are seeking to formally galvanise support for the Association and its Objectives through building a broad membership base from the BCC community and other concerned persons to bring about lasting change.

Our constitution is available here.

The CCR@BCC Committee

Each of the CCR@BCC Committee Members has personal experience with the impact of losses and distress caused by the unjust treatment of staff, parents and students by the Brindabella College Board.  The composition of the Committee includes past and present parent representation, and spouses of former staff.

All share a common vision and passion for pursuing constitutional reform at BCC to promote the long term viability and health of the school and to ensure it can continue delivering quality care and education services to children in the Canberra community well into the future.
